New In Summer 2005 Bearded Dragon (Pogona Vitticeps) Hatchlings Bearded Dragons make good pets. They’re quiet,
gentle animals and are relatively easy to look after. Bearded Dragons are one of the most docile and sociable of all the lizards kept in captivity today. Bearded Dragons can be easily handled due to their more than submissive nature and can make great pets for all ages, no experience needed. Children's Python (Bothrochilus childreni) Hatchlings Children's Pythons are the second smallest python in the world (second to the Ant Hill Python). Named after naturalist John Children, they are native to Northwestern Australia. Their average adult length is 3 feet. When they are young, Children's Pythons are generally reddish-brown with dark brown patches or spots. As they age, these patterns fade resulting in a mostly dark brown to black snake with many older snakes showing no pattern at all. The appearance of an adult Children's python resembles that of a Rainbow boa and such like, sporting an iridescent pearly appearance. Due to their compact size and docile nature, Children's Pythons do not require large enclosures. Western Hognose (Heterodon nasicus) Hatchlings A small Colubrid snake from North America. Heterodon means variable teeth while nasicus means nasal or nose. Thus we have a snake that is rear fanged with an upturned nose or snout. These snakes average between one and a half to two feet long with a record length of just under three feet. These snakes are quite chunky, being much heavier than most other colubrids of comparable length. They have a sharply upturned snout used for digging and keeled scales. The ground color is generally buff or tan with darker blotches. The ventral surface (belly) is marked with large areas of black as is the tail. Hognoses seem to mimic rattlesnake species found in their range. Western hognose look very much like prairie rattlesnakes. Hognose snakes are also commonly known as puff or spreading adder or blow viper because of their defensive behaviour (spreading its hood, hissing, etc.). The animal is harmless. Java Wood Java wood is a newly sort after decoration for all vivariums and aquariums. Sandblasted for a smooth harmless finish. Many different wonderful shapes and sizes to fit all vivariums. Ideal for both snakes and lizards. Completely untreated for a safe natural looking environment.
